US SAILING Basic Cruising

For graduates of Basic Keelboat, this 3 day private Learn to Sail Vacation will qualify you to sail boats 27 to 35 feet in length. Your liveaboard yacht will be our Catalina 320 or Hunter 33. The first day consists of on-the-water instruction aboard one of the smaller vessels in this size range, such as a Catalina 290. On the second day of your trip, you will be taught on your liveaboard vessel.  At the conclusion of the second day, you will complete your written exam and the instructor will depart, leaving you to stay overnight at your guest slip. The third day of your trip allows you to practice your new skills and sail back to our marina on your own! This course is priced for two students. Students may be scheduled any 3 consecutive days depending on availability.

Itinerary:

Day 1

Check in at 9:00am. 1st day of instruction aboard 29′ yacht until 5:00pm. Return to marina for the night.

Day 2

2nd day of instruction aboard your liveaboard yacht from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Instructor will depart after written exam at the end of the day.

Day 3

Your day to practice your new skills! Sail on your own back to our marina by 5:00pm.
